Kicking off our Length Retention Challenge!
1. You should be washing your hair weekly! Someone asked if they can wash their hair every other week. It's your hair and you can do whatever you want, but for ultimate health and length, the best practice is to wash at least once per week.
2. Use a sulfate shampoo! This goes against everything we have been told, however unless your hair is over-processed or has heat damage, you should NOT use sulfate-free shampoos. Sulfate-free shampoos will not effectively clean your hair and you risk getting product build-up.
3. Heat dry always. Air-drying is a no-no. Once again, this goes against everything we have been told. Air-drying can lead to hygral fatigue or over-moisturized hair. Your hair can become weak from damaged bonds (in the hair) Using heat such as a hooded dryer or diffuser will not cause heat damage because it is gentle, ambient heat.

thanks for correcting those misconceptions! Great to know sulfate free shampoo is actually good and that air drying is a no no. There are so many mixed messages online, that it's hard to know what to follow!
